Adam Lundgren began his karate training in 1997 as a classmate of Sensei Ben Madsen, under then Sensei Butch Theil at the Blue Ridge Karate Club in Fairmont.  Adam stayed with the group during its transitions through different styles of karate including Matsumura Kenpo, Goju Ryu, and finally back to Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu Karate.  Adam has been a loyal student of both the Blue Ridge Karate Club and Chain of Lakes Karate Club under Senseis Butch Theil, Liz Grotte, and Ben Madsen throughout all of his years training.

Adam was promoted to the rank of Junior Shodan in the summer of 2003 while still under the age of 16.  In June of 2006, Adam was promoted to the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt), testing before Grandmaster Fusei Kise, at that year's annual training camp.  In August of 2010, Adam was promoted to Sandan (3rd degree black belt).

Following his promotion to the black belt ranks, Adam took on duties as an assistant instructor at the Chain of Lakes Karate Club, where he led the youth classes and assisted during adult classes.

Currently, Adam is attending the University of South Dakota on a full-time basis, where he is pursuing a degree in business.  He returns to train during the summers and when there are extended breaks in classes.
